Countdown to Wildfire Starts for press team
Press release • May 05, 2017 15:55 BST

This week the elephant team has kicked off the media countdown to Wildfire Festival - Scotland's national rock festival held in the sumptuous grounds of Wiston Lodge, Scotland between 23-25 June.
The big reveal on the full line-up confirms mounting comment in recent weeks that Wildfire 2017 is presenting in one place a “who’s who” of a new generation of breakthrough UK rock bands – now too many in number to be ignored. As with the metal NWOBHM ‘movement’ from the late 70s, the gathering momentum behind what is now being called the ‘New Wave of British Classic Rock’ references the renaissance of a distinctly British blues-rock music tradition - and in Wildfire Festival this movement has a new home.
The elephant team has been called in to support festival organisers with national, regional, digital and specialist media coverage ahead of the event and will be running a media centre during festival weekend, managing interviews and live streaming of images and content.
The Festival will also have an international flavor for 2017, presenting bands from Australia, The USA, South Africa and Denmark. In addition to the two main stages, for the first time Wildfire Festival will be hosting a third stage specifically geared to young people enjoying their first festival experience.
With a recent YouGov poll of UK rock fans suggesting mounting concern over the rising cost of festival and big gig tickets, Wildfire maintains a committed value for money philosophy. With a weekend ticket costing £70 - and kids entry for just £1 – a three-day experience at Wildfire equates to less than £1 per band. Further, the festival is holding tickets at 2016 prices until the end of April.
Wildfire’s ability to offer value for money tickets is also helped by the number of committed sponsors that have thrown their weight behind this year’s event.
